The services provided under this contract constitute "public works" under California Labor Code section 1720 et seq. The City of Sacramento is a charter city and has elected to comply the State of California's prevailing wage requirements for all construction work in an amount exceeding $25,000; or alteration, demolition, repair, or maintenance work in an amount exceeding $15,000 (City Code 3.60.180). The contractor awarded this contract and all subcontractors hired will be required to pay not less than the prevailing rates of wages, as determined by the California Department of Industrial Relations, DIR, to all workers employed in the execution of the contract (Labor Code section 1770 et seq.).
